Inspired by my brother

Walk into my mystery
There you will find history

Walk into my seclusion
There you will find the solution

Walk into my world
There you will see the future unfurled

Walk into my despair
There you will see what no one will care

Walk into my void
There your hopes will be destroyed

"Soul of Music"

My piano teacher pisses me off. I practiced a lot this week. Like more than an hour a day, every day. By my standard, that's a lot. So I go in and play my pieces and etc. I got all the notes and most of the dynamics right.

And then my teacher hit me with all the soul of music crap. Apparently I'm not "expressive" enough and he berated me for nearly half an hour.

Why the hell do I care if I'm playing like a "robot" or "emotionless"? I got everything right didn't I? Why would I "express" anything with someone else's piece? So even when I play it all (mostly) right I'm still wrong? wtf...

I don't even care for music. Never did, never will. I don't even listen to music...and as far as I'm concerned, things would still the same without music. (You flame me for that and your dead) The only time I "listen" to "music" is in the car when the radios turned to 93.3 or something. I'll probably never understand why iPod was so popular. I mean wow, you get to listen to songs. omg that's so amazing /sarcasm.

Of course I'm not saying that music is stupid or retarded. In fact good music backing up movies or something is great. And I'll admit, there are some pretty good songs out there (not much though...90% is crap) But seriously... >_>

Extravagant

Went to this party thing at Fairbank ranch...they had a park there with lakes and little forest place. Huge. The place must of been like easily 10 times the size of our school. They had a BBQ and everything. Korean style...I think. The kimchi was a bit strong but not bad. At least I thought it was.

Saw a swan too. It was floating on the lake with its head head under his wing near the dock. Bunch of little kids there, all running and screaming...making a big ruckus as usual. The host of the party made 20 million a year...yeh...20 million.

Spend most of the time playing b-ball with this sophomore-to-be-at-Westview-guy named Tony. Did I mention how much I hate basketball? bleh. But I had nothing better to do. The community was rich like hell. But the court kinda sucked. Cracks in the concrete, rusty backboard, thick rim, list goes on and on...ghetto lol

Game Post

Those who are not interested in computer games, don't bother reading.

I've always been a huge fan of RTS. You know...those kind where you gather resources, build up army, attack, etc. The first RTS I ever saw was Command and Conquer...one of the old ones. I remember my uncle who used to play games back in China every weekend. I would go into his room and watch him play ( I was like 6). He had a habit of playing with really dim light or no light at all...and smoking while playing. I still find the smell of ciggarette smoke...oddly good.

He also had Counterstrike and Diablo II which he was quite good at (I think). Tetris and Bedazzled comes to mind as well. The only time I got to play was this one time when he answered his phone and I took over on Counterstrike. I remembered clearly that I screwed up and headshotted 2 of of teammates by accident as terrorist with a AK-47. lol...pure luck...or rather, pure bad luck.

Anyway, back to the topic of RTS. The first one where I extensively played was Starcraft. After watching a friend play, I was quickly intrigued. Seeing Terran tanks blowing everything up was just...classic fun. Of course you can't forget the Carriers. I think starcraft is older then I am lol. I acquire these games through...practical methods (One way to put it). Thus the new top of the line games were never knowned to me at that time. My computer probably couldn't handle them anyways.

After Starcraft was...Warcraft. Not World of Warcraft, just Warcraft III. I kinda lost interest because fantasy RTS wasn't really appealing. I stopped after Warcraft and moved on to FPS and RPG. (Soldier Front, Maplestory, Gunbound, Gunz) Mostly free games I could get my hands on. Some of my buddies played so It was pretty fun.

On my...11th Birthday, I got Age Of Empires III. I saw it at a parent's friend's sons' house. My friend got me it and another copy for himself. I thoroughly enjoyed Age of Empires. It got me back to the world of RTS. Heck of a fun game. I later got the expansions but the online community is dying as Microsoft closed ES which supported the server. More than half the fun was duking it out against other people online and playing User-Created Mods/Scenarios. So once more, I moved on.

Most of the gap in between AOE III and my most recent choices was filled by Combat Arms. Pretty nice FPS that getting ruined by Nexon and their greed.

Now...now what? To be honest, many of the recent commercial RTS turned out to be pretty dissapointing.

Empire: Total War- Historical RTS...revolutionary ship battles...insane graphics...even a multiplayer mode. It had it all (At least for me). But it takes too much CPU power. When you actually play it, the graphics are restricted to "low" because most computer can't handle it. Plus the TONS...TONS of bugs in the gameplay makes it very fustrating. Especially the AI. In fact, the company that made ETW, named Creative Assembly (CA) was nicknamed "Crappy AI" Also it lowered strategical demands. Basically the battles are fought with musket line infantries alone. Seriously, it definitely needs some variety.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II- This actually looked pretty nice...at first. But the blend of Medieval Fantasy Creatures with Sci-Fi technology is way too wacky. Not my taste. Like I said, Fantasy RTS isn't appealing.

There are also several which are very Grphically Intense. You can't play them without crashing short of a gaming computer. Of course there are also the ones that I didn't try. Here's some examples

Supreme Commander- BEAST...but seriosuly...the average computer can't even handle the smaller battles.

World In Conflict- Maybe I'll try it out...

Men of War- Maybe...

Right now I'm engaged in Company of Heroes. WWII based squad tactics rather than the usual old school RTS. Not bad, definitely not bad. The fresh gameplay and intense tactics makes it actually pretty fun. Though online doesn't work because of my...methods of aqcuirement

Looking forward to 0AD by Wildfire. Ever since AOE III, Historical RTS are very appealing to me. Also it will be FREE. That's right folks...FREE. It might surpass some of the commercial ones out there today...providing that they finish it. Free...with multiplayer and a high degree of realistic combat and historical accuracy. (You can actually walk on walls...and shields actually do something...and arrows can actually kill ur own guys...and formations actually make a big difference, not just eyecandy!) Plus, the graphics are pretty nice and more importantly, they're not too intense

Of course Starcraft II is on the TBR (to be released) list. But seriously...the developers are trying to rip us off D: splitting the game into 3 is BS. But of course with all the hype and hardcore fans I'm pretty sure they can pull it off. Which means more bad news for us common folks without money -.-

So yeh...that sums up my RTS experience....if you got something to recommend, comment. HS probably gonna be really busy so I'll probably stop. Guess it's the last summer...though I'm quite looking forward to school

Programming

Recently...well, not recently. A short while ago is more appropriate. I've taken up programming again. It is hard...obviously. Very tedious and time-consuming task but offers a great sense of accomplishment when the end result performs the way you intended to.

I've found that out of the two mainstream languages, namely C++ and Java, C++ is more straight forward and easy to understand...in the beginning. There are many advanced functions in C++ that will drive you insane. My mom claims that Java is easier to understand but I strongly disagree.

Beach Parties

Had one on Saturday...kinda boring and really embarrassing. All adults and little 6 year old kids. The kids were doing kungfu (or something like that) I played volleyball with the adults.

They had a net set-up and everything. (technically it was beach volleyball with a bunch of people.) But yeh...MVP? well maybe not...but I did really good considering how everyone else were all grown up. Fell a couple of times and got sand into my clothe -.- by the end my arm was stinging. The ball was kinda hard...<---Awkward. lol

The food was not bad...Ate and ate and ate...

Anyway here's a really funny prank to pull off. Y'know how people watch sunsets on the beach right? with like the sun reflecting off the water and everything. Here's something you can do. Ask someone to watch the sunrise on the beach with you. LOL

If you don't get it...here's an explanation. The sun rises from the east. We're on the west coast. Most people don't think of that. It's pretty funny when they're all like "check the weather channel, are you sure it's not going to be foggy?" I was literally rotfl

posting it here cuz my internet is jacked up, and the auto-save is handy.

Response to Jwoo's textwall of death.

Maybe your too self-eccentric. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but seriously, there are millions of people out there who's living standards are well below yours. Emotions? They mean nothing.

Sanity...when you think about it...who is sane? The human race sure isn't. Who in the right mind would take drugs even when he knows they are harmful and lethal. Who in the right mind makes nuclear weapons that can kill millions...billions of their own race? WHO IN THE F*CKING RIGHT MIND WOULD SLOWLY DESTROY THE PLANET THEY ARE LIVING ON, THE ONLY PLANET THEY COULD LIVE ON? HUH? HUH? But humans do. Sanity? Don't make me laugh...

There's few people in the world who don't wish to make a impact...to make their lives mean something. But does that mean they succeed? No. Even if they do, time destroys it all. Time is a force stronger than change. Without time, what changes?

Maybe you should look deeper.
Maybe you should get over it.

There is no wrong and right, the world isn't that simple. Do what you want, when you want it. Don't take life to seriously...no one gets out of it alive anyways. It all comse down to your attitude

Maybe I'm being cynical, maybe I should listen to myself. I don't care.
