Dopple

Alot of people asked me about this so I decided to post about it. Contrary to the popular believe, dopple does not derive from from doppelganger. It comes from the German word Doppelsöldner.

Doppelsöldner were Landsknechts(German Mercenary) in 16th-century Germany who were prepared to fight in the front line, taking an extra risk, in exchange for double payment.

Landsknechts were trained to use of the Zweihänder(two-hander), a massive two-handed sword around 6 feet long(bigger than claymore which were around 4' 7") weighing up to 7 pounds

The Zweihänder was used by Doppelsöldners to break through formations of pikemen(pikes are massive spears around 20 feet long), especially Swiss pikemen.(Swiss pikemen were famous for discipline; they were the elite of the elite) They did this by either swinging to break the ends of the pikes themselves or to knock them aside and attack the pikemen directly.

Awesome Party

Thursday 27th Thankgiving day was FUN. Sina had this HUGE party and a bunch of his cousins were there. They stayed up till 3 in the morning dancing, chatting, and eating. The food was amazing. It was traditional Persian food and it tasted great

Food:
They had a bunch of food laid on the table(there was-of course-turkey!) Different dishes ranging from potato salad to salmon to kabobs to fried rice. I've never even see some of the dishes they had! But they were all delicious.

It was great party and I had lots of fun =D

Thanks Giving Break

well after looking at Amy's blog I remember this so I decided to post again *cheers*( I know...amazing huh!) I had to babysit my brother today...for 5 dollars(totally not worth it) He was being a real nuisance so I couldn't get any of my stuff done -.-

It's strange how breaks get boring and lonely after a few days. I miss school( hate to say it but...) and all it's routines that have become so familiar. Staying at home all day by your self gets sooo lonely. That's why I'm on gmail all day and hunting people down to chat haha.

Well...now I have 2 post on this blog...hopefully I can add a zero or two by the end of this year =D
